The location was exceptionally nice and I could use free parking on site. It was located in a modern area👍

Had fantastic stay for 1 night. There was plenty of reasonably priced meals. The location was great because it was adjacent to a restaurant, lakes and tourist destinations, and the Kendal city area. Besides, this hotel was located 5 km away from a mixed - bag museum.

Cozy room, clean environment, and great breakfast options made our stay enjoyable, especially loved the dog-friendly policy and the free parking.

Nothing to fault

It's just a few steps from Cumbria Wildlife Trust for those scenic walks in nature, and there's an amazing collection of artisan shops right across the road including a bakery that makes heavenly ginger cakes.

Gorgeous surroundings

The room was clean and nice with quirky decorations, yet quite noisy at night.

I had a fabulous sleep and enjoyed the beautiful meals while being just a short walk from the fine Serpentine Woods and a charming selection of artisan production shops across the street, making my weekend city strolls even better.

great stay but room for improvement

The farm shop nearby offered fresh produce that added charm to our stay. The warm welcome from staff. The culinary experience in the restaurant was a highlight, showcasing excellent local ingredients.

The bathroom could use some modernization.

At Gateway in Kendal, I thoroughly enjoyed the charming decor and immaculately clean accommodations. The staff offered friendly service The narrow stairs presented a bit of a challenge with our luggage, but this did not overshadow our overall experience.

I enjoyed a delicious evening meal. The cooked breakfast was great too! The toiletries provided were of really nice quality. I found the room a bit chilly at first.

The warm welcome from the staff set the tone for a lovely stay, with a delicious roast beef dinner and a cozy atmosphere. The room's staircase can be a challenge with mobility issues. The upgrade was appreciated, but noise from the nearby road detracted a bit from my experience.

Amazing staff made our stay special!

The staff were so cute, treating us like family. They made everything easy and enjoyable. The only bummer was that there was no food available , but we totally loved the bar area for drinks. Very nice service!

The Gateway Hotel offered a lovely stay with beautifully decorated rooms and friendly staff. I thoroughly enjoyed the powerful shower and cozy bed, made for a superb night's sleep. The food was really good. The roast I had on Friday was one of the best I've ever tasted!

There was an issue with the hot water .

The room was cozy and well-decorated. The bed was super comfy, and I had a fabulous sleep. The shower was powerful and refreshing, definitely a highlight! Just a couple of minor things, like a lack of hand soap, but nothing that ruined the experience.
